Levante were no match for Barcelona, who made the most of Real Madrid`s slip to reclaim top spot in LaLiga with a 3-0 win at Camp Nou.

Barcelona reclaimed top spot in LaLiga with a routine 3-0 victory over strugglers Levante at Camp Nou on Sunday.

First-half goals from Marc Bernal and Frenkie De Jong and another after the break from Fermin Lopez helped Hansi Flick`s side cruise to three points and leapfrog Real Madrid following their surprise defeat at Osasuna a day earlier.

Carlos Alvarez had already shot straight at Barca goalkeeper Joan Garcia and Joules Kounde wastefully fired over on the side-foot by the time Bernal prodded in from Eric Garcia`s left-wing centre in the fourth minute.

Matthew Ryan then denied Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski bounced the rebound over but, after Garcia thwarted Jon Olasagasti one-on-one and Joao Cancelo`s cross struck the post, De Jong slotted home from Cancelo`s sublime left-wing cross.

Lewandowski and Dani Olmo both brought saves from Ryan early in the second period as Barca looked to extend their lead, while Paco Cortes shot into the side-netting for Levante having slipped at a crucial moment.

Barca put the game beyond doubt, though, when Lopez scored a screamer with nine minutes to go, receiving Lamine Yamal`s lay-off and hammering one into the top-right corner with a slight kiss off the post.

There would have been even more gloss had Ryan not made a fantastic double save to deny Raphinha and Lopez, but Barca had already done what they needed to do.

Barca were hammered by Atletico Madrid to exit the Copa del Rey, then suffered a demoralising defeat at Girona, but they were back to winning ways here.

The Blaugrana bettered Levante in every metric, having more shots (22 to five), shots on target (nine to two), and big chances (eight to one), while hitting the woodwork twice.

They have now won all 17 of their home LaLiga games against Levante, extending a record they already held for a 100 per cent home record against an opponent in the competition`s history.

Moreover, Barca have scored in all 34 of their matches against Levante in LaLiga - now registering 101 in total. That also represents a record for the highest number of games played by a team where they have scored in 100 per cent of matches against an opponent.

And it was a particularly good moment for De Jong, who had not registered in LaLiga since January 2025 before his goal here.

Lopez: We Controlled the Match in the Second Half, and This is the Reason for the Victory

Fermin Lopez, a player for Barcelona, spoke after his team defeated Levante 3-0 in the Spanish League competition.

Fermin Lopez said: "In the second half, we controlled the match better, we played a great game, in the goal attack, I saw the space and scored a good goal."

He continued: "I have the ability to shoot with both feet, this is something I train on a lot and today it came out excellently."

He added: "When I went to Linares, my coach insisted on improving shooting, I was working on that and training for it, and when I returned, I continued training, it was an advantage for me but I worked on developing it."

He also said: "Previously, I used to rush a bit when shooting, and now I train on that and I think I can help the team in this aspect."

He continued: "We were going through a bad period with two consecutive defeats, we did self-criticism and corrected the mistakes, and I think we played a good game today, this is the step we must continue on."

He went on: "I always play in the position the coach determines, I prefer playing as an attacking midfielder more than playing on the wing."

He concluded by saying: "I think defensively we give the opponent many opportunities, this is also the work of the players in the front by pressing, we all have to be together to defend, we are correcting mistakes, and I think if we do that with some details, we can compete for everything."
